When it comes to dating online, most people assume that it’s something that youngsters do. But research by Green State University professors of gerontology have found that the number of seniors [those older than 60 years] hooked on to online dating is increasing fast.
The difference is that they are looking at connecting with a partner on a deeper level than the younger lot. While youngsters might pay attention to appearance, status, sexual prowess and nightlife seniors are looking at compatibility. For them, intelligence, affection, independence, purpose, goals, health are important.
A detailed report on the research by Bowling Green, can be found on the university website.
