A trip down soul lane

How would it be if you were endowed with the powers to heal yourself of any disease—however grave or ordinary, not just of the body but also of the mind? Most would reject the idea thinking it’s possible only in a fantasy. Yet, it’s this very belief that Brandon Bays challenges you to change through the book. Surprisingly, it doesn’t take much of convincing on Brandon’s part to change your thinking; her amazing personal account of healing from a basketball-sized tumour does a good job of turning most sceptics into believers.

The book is about her spectacular journey from the discovery of the tumour to its complete healing. Being a teacher in the personal growth field for over 10 years, Brandon had unshakeable faith in complementary medicine, and, in the power of her higher self. So with the help of different systems of integrated medicine, such as massage therapy, naturopathy, homoeopathy and a spiritual healing process [which is now known as ‘the Journey’], she managed to dissolve her tumour. In the process, she had to battle her fears and face her deepest emotional issues. This is what you learn in the first half.

What follows is a story of her experimentation with the process as she assisted others to heal from their ailments. The cases of extraordinary healing take your breath away on several occasions.

For me, the most fascinating aspect of the book is the do-it-yourself Journey process outlined in the concluding section of the book. Once you learn the process, you can use it like your personal physician—one who’s on call anytime you need. What’s more…you can do the process with the family, including children.

More and more healers—both from complementary as well modern medicine—are accepting that most diseases originate in the mind and are manifested in the body. No wonder, everyone’s looking for ways to heal via the same route—the mind. But what is lacking is a simple, yet systematic method to do it. The Journey is a beautiful and novel amalgamation of what psychotherapists, counsellors, spiritual gurus and physicians from every system of medicine try to achieve with their patients. So if you’re from the healing profession, this is a must read. On second thoughts, it’s a must ‘experience’ because reading this book is an experience in itself—one, that you would want to repeat often, and share with those you love.
