In License to Live, Priya Kumar uses her creative license effectively as she takes the reader through a fantastical journey of self-discovery.
Priya Kumar is a highly successful corporate trainer who’s got everything one could wish for. Yet she feels restless and unfulfilled. A chance encounter with Kurt Rinck, a success coach, followed by a seven-day adventure, turns around her life in ways she couldn’t have imagined in her wildest dreams. As she experiences transformation in her, she gently plants the seeds of the same transformation in the heart and mind of the reader as well.
Writing in first person, Priya Kumar fictionalises a self-help book into a gripping and refreshing fable. Admittedly, it’s a difficult task, one that she manages with grace.
There are moments in the book that are profound and some of her monologues have the potential to transform you. Although the story is rooted in adventure, her writing style has strong spiritual undertones, so this book is not for those who’re looking for an out-and-out fiction thriller. But if you’re looking for practical inspiration with a human touch, you’ll enjoy reading this book.
