Pigeons can do a lot of harm to the building structure besides causing many infectious diseases. When the birds plan to live on the houses or buildings’ rooftop, they drop off their poop, which is quite toxic and can easily weaken the construction materials. There have been several instances where the buildings have collapsed due damage done by pigeon droppings, rendering it a serious threat for inhabitants as well as those living in the vicinity.
When the pigeon droppings are allowed to dry near the AC supply, windows and ventilation, dried dust can be drawn into the building’s exhaust and inhaled by all those inhabiting the building, leading to many respiratory and other diseases for them.
Pigeons are indeed the top pest bird in our region. A lot of money is spent on cleaning and maintaining the damage caused to the buildings by pigeons every year. Controlling pigeon population requires some type of pigeon control structure.
Warm weather brings with it the appearance of pigeons that can cause diseases, while making a great mess and creating disturbances. A systematic approach to pigeon control is important for the ensuring clean and disease-free environments. In the old days, popular pigeon control methods involved cages or poisons that left behind sick birds or worse, carcasses of dead birds.
How to keep pigeons away from your property?
Bird control methods in the past contain spikes or chemicals that leave behind dying or starving pigeons. However, newer bird control methods are largely reliant on humane options that cause minimal harm to the birds.
There are many efficient methods to deter pigeons from settling or breeding. All bird drops or nest resources must be thoroughly cleaned before these devices are mounted.
Birds control is becoming a more comprehensive aspect of building design, and perhaps some designers have also developed rodent control measures into project specifications.
The latest pigeon control products
Following are the latest pigeon control products in use to get rid of these disease-causing birds.
Birth Control Measures
The company says these birth control medicines can be supplied to pigeons by a variety of techniques. The method involves the use of different shapes and sized tanks carrying the medicine to match all pigeons’ feeding need on-site. Vessels should be punctured to facilitate draining. This approach is suggested only for places where the group comprises fewer than 50 pigeons.
Other techniques include field feed where the medicine is spread across a field of not more than 20 feet wide. And third is automatic feeding, a process used only for pigeons’ flock of more than 50 pigeons. Mechanical feeders should only be used in rooftop locations or plain pavements with little or no accessibility.
Ultrasonic bird control devices
These devices emit lower and higher distracting frequencies that don’t harm humans. Periodic and irritating ultrasonic sounds make the place unlivable for nuisance birds who then migrate somewhere else. These relatively low systems may be useful for elevated traffic centers since they are discreet.
Sonic systems emit bird warning signals and alarming threat alerts that warn birds that the location is dangerous. To individuals, such auditory records naturally merge with the natural environment. But to birds the sounds are particularly disturbing. In the same way as ultrasonic pigeon control units, with continuous use these machines discourage birds from returning .
Laser pigeon controllers are run by generating lasers with continuously shifting colours and patterns. The flashing lights are operating round the clock to frighten pest birds, while the rotation of the lights prevents adjustment. Birds are kept away from the field and are also not harmed.
Drones being used for pigeon prevention are yet another elevated pigeon control tool. The disruptive visual appearance of a drone may be paired with acoustic engineering. Current models of bird monitoring drones use sound devices to play threat noise records, and they can fly entirely independently with optimized Google Maps configuration.
Shock track devices
Shock track devices are indeed a great pick for moderate pigeon control. An almost unseen shock track strip is mounted on areas like window ledges or stairways, which lightly shock pigeons upon touching, notifying birds not to settle in the field. Shock track devices are humane because they do not hurt the birds, only turn them away from buildings.
Liquid taste oral fixations
Liquid taste oral fixations coat lawn, grass, and trees and can be spread over a wide field, producing an incredibly budget-friendly option for pigeon control. Medicated surfaces dissuade birds since they make the environment taste acidic. In the meantime, bird hydrogel can be added to surfaces and repulse birds by forming a slippery, sticky surface that is not appropriate for launching.
