This is a male perspective from me.
There is a psychology behind relationships between males and females of our species.
In the 1970s, bars often had females dancing in revealing outfits. What they did was they had a good training in something called vulnerability body language. They never normally took any more clothing off than they were wearing while on stage.
This often meant revealing of breasts partially covered. This was always only a glimpse. It was very effective in the reactions of the male population of the place where they worked.
The rule being to never show the nipples of the dancer. But with body language to show themselves vulnerable.
The push buttons of the male are often visual in nature. The push bottoms of the female are often audio. This is a generalization.
So a woman baring her belly, in a skimpy halter with a supporting bra underneath was effective.
Male dancers often stripped down much further. The rule being to entertain with vaudeville skits. Often they showed off their physical abilities. And took money tips from the audiences. Restricted to an all female audience.
A dance designer friend in those days told me his dancers rehearsed long hours of the day before performing.
Men often think with their hormones. Women often look at the practical. Meaning, they look at what is in a potential relationship for me?
This appears to be universal.
The insurance companies live by the statistical data determining what any age group of women and men are likely to do. From the ages of 16 all the way to 26, men are at the mercy of their hormones.
Women are far better at controlling those hormones that men ever have thought possible. They are as a group quite capable of control much earlier than most men.
Psychology based on behaviorism is very valuable subliminally in the making of decisions of humanity.
Advertising, the placing of products on a shelf, and even the unwritten rules of clothing vary world wide.
The ideal is in any relationship appears to be whether or not it is equally balanced between the male and female.
The people deciding decisions made by average people make a whole lot of money in this world.

No one ever meets on this site. its just a 100% money grab, you eat up credits fast and continuously get bombarded by girls, all are 7 's to 10's big boobs lip jobs, not all but most, there are no ugly women. which if you were on a real site like E Harmony you would be lucky to see one that would be on this site, all their photos are taken by professional photographers, the girls seem to be up 24/7, when you message they seem to be there immediately, I have said more than one its an adult chat site, several girls have said they are in my town, but you never meet, they say lets get to know each other better, I think a person meeting could handle that better. Im 67, I asked for 48 to 72 year olds, I get 30's early 40's, oh and age is not a factor sure FO!!They prey on the single lonely guy but I am done was on for 3 months then came back and kick myself for doing so, you cannot exchange numbers or emails as they block them. you are stuck on that site. and 90% are Ukrainian, which is fine, they show some in the US but I really doubt they are there, I could go on more but I am done my rant....

This was such a thoughtful and evocative read. You’ve captured Kalimpong’s quiet grace, layered history, and subtle tensions so beautifully — it feels less like a travel piece and more like a lived experience. The monastery morning and the walk through town especially stayed with me. Thank you for portraying Kalimpong with both honesty and affection.

Thank you, Manoj for your balanced perspective. It strikes me that avoiding the trap of hero worship isn't just about choosing better idols -it’s about the vulnerability required to remain a "work in progress."

To maintain our own agency and competency, we have to stay experiential. We should test a role model's values against our own rather than adopting them blindly. It takes immense authenticity and courage to do this without being rattled by how others judge our "unfinished" state.

I also see a modern parallel with AI. Over-dependence on technology or even an obsession with our own rigid thought processes leads to the same loss of control. Whether it’s a human hero or an algorithm, the moment we stop questioning, we are being controlled.

I’d love to hear your take: is our growing reliance on external "answers" (human or tech) making this internal grounding harder to achieve?
