I would like to share my views on saving our tigers. As we all know that the population of tigers has been considerably reduced. In the course of time if proper steps are not taken tigers may become extinct species. In order to protect the present population of tigers certain important measures have to be taken up to increase the population and protect them. Firstly, analyze what could be the reason for decreasing population. Secondly , save and protect the existing population of tigers by giving them nutritious food, conducive environment, periodical medical check-ups by specialists and monitoring the hygiene on a daily basis. Care must be taken during breeding season. Thirdly, rigid punishment for hunters-poachers in case they kill the tigers. Identify forests where tigers are present and steps must be taken to protect the tigers. It is not only the responsibility of the government to protect the tigers but it is the duty of every individual citizen of India. Thus , I would conclude by saying “SAVE TODAY , SEE TOMORROW”.

Very comprehensive article,Dr. Minnu. What’s imp is that it should reach the caretakers and the policymakers and they should implement the idea with sensitivity and honesty (as u rightly said its just an idea right now). In order to help mobilize the public opinion,I would definitely frwd it to the editor of a small magazine, Worli Waves, published locally by Worli Hill Association…a small contribution to the movement. Dear Maam,
Your article has sure left me thinking. I totally agree to your reasons of the project not being successful, as hurt it may, there are many other important issues in life of common man, the survival being the foremost that occupies his mind 24/7.
The suggestions that you have given is worth implementing. Though the efficiency of it will be a question considering the amount of corruption prevalent in our country.
It definitely is worth a sincere try though!

Can’t we put more security in front of national parks, sanctuaries etc.? Poachers, hunters should be penalized, hunting should be strictly prohibited and should be punished badly.Thanks for seeing my comment
