For a More Abundant 2007

Ring in the new year with simple exercises that will inspire you to live more of the life you truly desire

For a more abundant 2007January is the perfect time to create a vision for the new year and focus on what it is you need to make your experience of life more abundant.

You are the creator of your Universe, and it is you who has the power to transform it. Most often in life we believe that the answers to our happiness and abundance are outside ourselves, but if you practice the simple exercises I’m sharing with you, you will start to realise that you have the ability to change any part of your life that you are not satisfied with.

Accept Yourself

The first step to transformation is accepting that where you are now is absolutely perfect, and that every single experience you have had is what defines you and makes you the beautiful individual that you are. When we can stop fighting the present and bring some acceptance into our lives, we bring a state of peace and expansion. Nothing ever stays the same in Universe. The only thing that you can truly be sure of is that things will change; what you’re going to do is start co-creating with those changes to make a better world for yourself.

At least once a day stand in front of the mirror and look into your eyes, and say to yourself, “I ‘your name’ deeply and profoundly accept myself.” Repeat 5-10 times. Such simple words can aid in the changing of your reality. Don’t worry if you start laughing, or crying, or telling yourself why it’s not possible; just do the practice.

Next, we are going to cultivate a feeling of gratitude within ourselves. With gratitude comes grace. When there is something in your life that you want to change or improve it is very powerful to bless and give thanks for what you have now. If your attention is drawn to your deficiency, it will only create more of it. So, even if you’re not completely happy with everything look for where you can find gratitude for what you have. This has a magical effect. It allows something more abundant to come in.

Find a comfortable place to sit or lie down. Close your eyes and start by focusing on your breathing. Slow down your breath. Breathe in through your nose, keeping the mouth closed. Follow your breath down into your belly. On inhaling, silently repeat the word “love,” and on exhaling, the word, “gratitude.” Do this for a few minutes until you feel yourself relaxing. Focus on the centre of your chest. Visualise a beautiful green light spreading out from the centre of your heart chakra. Now letting go of the words, just bring into your awareness all the things that you are grateful for in your life.

Clear the Clutter

Now, if we’re going to be bringing in the new and creating a more abundant you, a very important preparation is to clear the clutter out of your life. On a very subtle level everything in the Universe is made of energy and a life filled with clutter has the effect of blocking the inflow of fresh energy. To raise your personal vibration to attract more abundance we need to raise the vibration and energy of your surroundings.

Bless what you have and give thanks on a regular basis. If you’re looking to manifest a new love relationship in your life, make sure you’re not holding on to lots of items or pictures of your past loves. The fresher and clearer your space, the easier it will be to attract the new.

Clear all visible clutter. Take time to clear out your closet/s. Donate things you no longer need. Buy flowers. Brighten up your home with some new cushions, or a new vase. Clear any outstanding paperwork.

Be Creative

I often have people say to me that they don’t know what they want, and if they do they can be very unsure that they will be able to manifest it! Something that can really help with a wish-list is delving into what your unique talent is.

We all have something that we excel at and this, therefore, gives us great pleasure to partake in. When this gift becomes a focal point in our life, it becomes hard to avoid manifesting abundance. If you still find you are unsure, just start by asking for clarity. Also, try not to judge yourself, or your ability to manifest.

Get a piece of paper or a journal. Divide the page with different headings: Material [home, cars, clothes, job, health, success etc.,]. Emotional [relationships, feelings, self-esteem etc.,]. Spiritual [your spiritual practice, enlightenment, knowledge, spiritual experiences]. Now, close your eyes, relax your body and focus on your breathing.

Bring your attention to the centre of your chest. Imagine a beautiful radiant green light emanating from your heart chakra. Now, visualise yourself diving into the centre of that light and being very relaxed and clear. Ask yourself the question, “What do I want?” Keep repeating the question, all the time breathing into the radiant green light. After a few minutes, stop asking and open your eyes gently. Now, begin to write your wish-list. Allow it come to an intuitive place within and don’t judge your wishes. This will be your manifesting list. You can change and update it at any time.

Review it before you meditate and before you go to sleep at night.

A very powerful way to create the life you want is to start visualising it on a daily basis. If you want a new home, imagine the home and see yourself in it. Use your five senses to really experience the visualisation. The more detail you can use, the better. Whatever it is, take the time to really see yourself living and experiencing it.

Before you go to sleep at night read over your wish-list, give thanks for everything you already have in your life. Visualise the life you want to lead.

Adding a daily meditation practice is going to put you on the fast track. When you take the time to do a daily meditation, it has the effect of clearing your blocks and aligning your mind, body and spirit – and, to creating a state of union within yourself. This state of unity leads to higher states of consciousness, expanded awareness and connection to the Universe.

Sit comfortably and close your eyes. Use the mantra “So Hum.” “So,” on the in-breath. “Hum,” on the out-breath. After 20 minutes, stop repeating the mantra and think about your desires once again. If you practice twice a day the results will emerge in quick-time!

Finally, enjoy the process. Live in the moment as much as you can and enjoy creating an abundant 2007!

Happy New Year!!
